There are moments in motherhood that feel oddly familiar, almost like a deja vu of sorts. Not because you’ve lived them before as a parent, but because you’re watching your child walk through the same season of life that once shaped you.

My daughter is a tween now.

She’s standing at the edge of that in-between stage where childhood begins to loosen its grip, and the outside world starts seeping in. Friends suddenly matter more - way more. Comparison sneaks in. Confidence becomes more fragile. The opinions of others start to carry more weight than they should.

These are the five things I tell my daughter most often, and the things I desperately wish someone had told me.
