My beloved kitchen witches,
Lughnasadh calls us home to the hearth. To the bubbling cauldron. To the scent of cinnamon and fruit filling the air like a spell spoken in steam.
This is the Celtic harvest festivals, and it’s meant to be tasted, bit by bit, seed by seed, spoonful by sacred spoonful. The old ways were never just about symbolism. They were about relationship. Between people and plants. Between labor and rest. Between what we’re given and what we give back.
This is not a holiday of excess, it is a celebration of what survived.
What ripened despite the heat, the pests, the droughts of the soul and the soil.
And so, we cook. Not just to nourish our bodies, but to whisper into the belly of the earth: Thank you. We remember.
