When you don’t know what to write, but you write anyway.
Feeling the ease with which the words fall onto the page
Through the fingertips and beyond.
Wordy mountains to climb don’t feel as laboursome while you’re en route
You’re in it, on the journey, already moving
One foot in front of the other
One word after another
Feeling Spirit on your shoulder and the gentle breeze at your back
Climbing mountains never feels as hard as what it should (or what others imply it must).
Of course, it’s never for the faint of heart
Courage is required
So, too, is discipline
Tenacity
The will to keep going through sheer grit and faith.
But don’t mistake the grit for grind – they are not the same.
Think sticky, but never stuck
Grip, without clinging.
Effort
Yet entirely effortless.
Grit smooths the edges
It is a handy ingredient, indeed.
Just keep walking
Keep writing
Because your adventure is only just beginning.
You don’t need to concern yourself with finding your words.
They find you.
They always do.
Whether they come in long, fluid, majestic creative runs
Or in spontaneous, short, acute bursts
They emerge in truly organic form and time.
You, dear writer, are the holder of space
The midwife
You are a crystal-clear channel of the Divine.
Everything you need is inside you and around you.
May life itself be your muse.
Creation
Art
Expression
Your words are your gift to the world.
They are your gift to you.
Honour them
Enjoy them!
Feel them with every fibre of your being,
Your beautiful, beautiful words.
