The Grief Table - Jamie Herzog · The Grief Table - Jamie Herzog

As August stretches on, time can feel strange - long and dragging, or suddenly fast. Grief doesn’t follow the calendar, but sometimes a new month can be a gentle invitation to check in with yourself.

These questions are here for you whenever you have even a sliver of energy to explore them.

1. “Where do I feel most safe to grieve?”
Is it a particular room, a car, the shower, a certain walk, a person’s presence, or even late‑night scrolling?

2. “What do I miss most about ordinary days with them?”
Think of the small, “nothing special” moments that now feel like treasures.

3. “How has my relationship to rest changed since my loss?”
What does rest look like now? What gets in the way? What feels nourishing rather than numbing?

4. “What is one tiny way I can honor my limits this week?”
It might be setting a boundary, leaving something undone, or asking for help with one specific task.

Holding a soft candle for you this month,
Jamie
