A quick post regarding a substantial error in the NXP BC869 PNP transistor datasheet. It was only by chance I found an EEVBlog forum post with the old Philips datasheet attached, and noticed the pinout in the updated (current) NXP datasheet is completely wrong. It’s also not just a simple misunderstanding of top vs. bottom package view, since the emitter and collector pins are also swapped. This is obviously a huge problem given this will result in copper errors, and will be extremely hard to track down given both packages have the same marking - ‘CEC’.
I have checked its complementary BC868, and thankfully it does not suffer from the same problem.
