I’ve spent some time reverse-engineering the A1185 battery pack for the A1181 model polycarbonate MacBooks. Feel free to use this as a reference design for the Texas Instruments BQ20z80, BQ29312A, and BQ29401PW. The KiCad project can be found here, with the repository also containing PDF schematics, BoardView, and STEP model as usual.
Some other details about the pack configuration are listed below.
Cell configuration: 3S2P, 10.8V (3.6V/cell)
Original capacity (Wh): 55Wh
Original capacity (Ah): Approximately 2.5Ah/cell
Cell dimensions: 68 x 61 x 6.0 mm
Board Construction: Twin board rigid-flex
