Starting the write-ups off with one of our most painful futures of the 2025.
Dak to lead the league in passing at +1000. He was the leader entering Week 18, but the Cowboys were ready for a vacation and Dak exited the game at the half with a measly 70 yards.
Anyway… we all know this offense is going to be able to put up points. We saw how much George Pickens benefited from a competent QB. CeeDee Lamb is one of the best in the game. Javonte Williams is coming off one of the more suprising performances of 2025.
The Defense is where I want to focus. Matt Eberflus was fired after one year as DC and in comes Christian Parker. 2025 was about as bad as it can get. They gave up the most points EVER by a Dallas defense. Allowing 30+ points in 8 games (per Warren Sharp). I’ll keep going… they didn’t rank in the top 30 in any of the major defensive team stats. TOP 30! Of 32 Teams! The writing was on the wall when they traded Micah Parsons to the Packers.
2025 truly feels like rock bottom for this defense between Eberflus and the Parsons debacle.
The Cowboys know their defense was the weak point, and they made significant adjustments.

Dallas finished under .500 for the 2nd consecutive year and the defense has been an embarassement since Dan Quinn left. This year they are projected to play the 4th toughest schedule of opponents. There are a lot of questions on D, but it feels like things are trending in the right direction.
For me this is a buy or nothing. They showed some serious heart in the middle of the season beating the Eagles and Chiefs in back to back weeks, before losing 4 of their last 5. I just can’t bring myself to press the button because there’s another NFC East team I’d rather back.
But just because I’m not buying doesn’t mean everyone is out.

Last year the Giants loaded up in the draft with Abdul Carter, Jaxson Dart, and Cam Skattebo.
2026 was no different. They had 2 picks in the top 10 taking Arvell Reese (LB) and Francis Mauigoa (OT).
I’m a Daboll guy and I think he’ll land on his feet in Tennessee, but Harbaugh is a huge hire. Sure he struggled to win a big playoff game in Baltimore over the last few years, but right now the Giants would kill to lose a Playoff game in late January.
They also welcome Matt Nagy (OC) and Dennard Wilson (DC). If you don’t know by now we are big Matt Nagy haters. Wilson is coming in after being let go in Tennessee where you could argue he wasn’t terrible. Will Levis throwing pick 6’s every game makes and DCs life misrable. But Wilson worked with Harbaugh in Baltimore so the hire makes sense from a relationship standpoint.
2025 was set up to be a disaster and we spelled it out in the pre-season. Daboll was dead from the jump. He was handed Russell Wilson, a short leash, and not enough time to work with Dart. They won 4 games and went under their win total, but to start the season they were only favored in a single game.
The season really fell off the rails in a 33-32 loss at Denver in Week 7. Giving up 33 points in the 4th quarter is unfathomable. They lost 8 straight after that.
They had 13 losses last year. 7 were by one score. The other five? They had a double digit lead at one point in the game (per Warren Sharp). The talent was there, the execution was not. And thats where the Harbaugh hire offers a lot of potential.
Dart was electric and only played one half of football with Malik Nabers. Will be very fun to see what the duo can do if Nabers if ready to go Week 1.
Harbaugh’s biggest project will correcting Dart’s recklessness. The dude was evaluted for a concussion in 5 of his first 10 games! If you want to be a franchise QB you simply can’t risk your brain that much.
Abdul Carter needs coming out party. The loss of Dexter Lawrence will hurt, but overall I like the trade as it landed them a top 10 pick.
I don’t blame folks for jumping in on the Giants over. We saw plenty of amazing year one turn arounds last year. Mike Vrabel, Ben Johnson and Liam Cohen all took underperforming teams to the playoffs and it’s not crazy to see something similar from Harbaugh in New York.

This is Siranni’s 6th year as head coach. He’s made the Playoffs every single one of them. Now look, I’m a Sirianni hater - but that’s impressive.
If you look at those seasons you see a trend.
Year 1: 9-8 lost in Wildcard Round
Year 2: 14-3 lost in Super Bowl
Year 3: 11-6 lost in Wildcard Round (went 1-5 down the stretch)
Year 4: 14-3 won Super Bowl
Year 5: 11-6 lost in Wildcard Round
Zig-zag. Don’t buy the Eagles after a big year, buy ‘em low. Well…there’s more to it than that but you get the point. Due to their huge successes followed by early playoff exits this team has seen a wild amount of turnover for coordinators.
The defense is solid with Vic Fangio. Solid is an understatement. Only a few years ago this was one of the worst defense in the league.

The offense has plenty of questions. Hurts will be playing under his 7th Offensive Coordinator in 7 seasons. He’s a guy who needs to make things happen with his legs and last year they weren’t there. It was the worst performace as a rusher of his career. Lowest yards per carry, attempts, yardage, and TD’s.
In comes Sean Mannion to lead the offense. The good news is it will be nearly impossible to be worst than his predecessor (Kevin Patullo). Mannion spent the last few years working with LaFleur in Green Bay as an Offensive Assistant, then QB Coach. He played under McVay and Kevin O’Connell. Overall, a much better pedigree than being buddies with the Head Coach.
The loss of AJ Brown is big, but he was becoming a cancer and a change of scenery was necessay for both parties. Philly jumped the Steelers to snag Makai Lemon (WR) in a move that could haunt the Cowboys who initiated the trade.
The Eagles have talent everywhere and you have to love that they are thick in the trenches. When they won the Super Bowl they played the 4th easiest schedule. Last year was the 4th hardest. Now they play the 7th easiest. Zig-zag.
It’s time for Jalen to get his groove back.

Jayden Daniels exploded into the NFL going to the NFC Championship and winning OPOY, so its only natural that he followed it up with a ton of injuries. The sophmore slump hits hard.
The question surrounding the Commanders is which year was the outlier? The dominate performance of 2024 or the embarassing 2025 campaign?
I lean to the latter. Jayden Daniels was a magician in 2024. Dan Quinn looked like a genius. Hell - going into last offseason Kliff Kingberry was supposed to be one of the prime candidates for a head coaching opportunity, now hes an Offensive Assistant with the Rams.
Now don’t get me wrong, I am a believer in Daniels. But what does he have around him?
It can’t be worse than last year. Look at all these guys they let walk in Free Agency that remain unsigned.

Hilarious. In hindsight fading the Commanders in 2025 was one of the easiest bets on the board (for the record I faded them and Jeff Sunday was a buyer).
The roster is loaded with questions. Terry McLaurin is cool, but then you have Luke McCaffrey, Antonio Williams, Treylon Burks and Dyami Brown. Woof! I don’t know if any of their running backs could even start at Boise State.
Dan Quinn is a defensive guy where they’ll roll out SEVEN new starters this year. Drastic changes were necessary. Both coordinates left last year, which is typically a sign that the Head Coach is next. David Blough (OC) and Daronte Jones (DC) are making their debuts as coordinators.
Blough played under Dan Campbell and Ben Johnson before coming to the Commanders as an Assistant QB Coach.
Jones worked in Minnesota under Brian Flores. He gets two major additions in 1st rounder Sonny Styles (LB) and FA Odafe Oweh (Edge). But this was a defense that was way more than a guy or two away.
There’s a bit of hype and I don’t blame the talking heads. The 2024 season was that impressive.

In 2012 RG3 won OPOY for the Commanders (then Redskins), injuries piled up and he never came close to that level of play. In 2024 Jayden Daniels won OPOY. He followed it up with 4 separate injuries.
Week 2: sprained left knee, Week 7: strained left hamstring, Week 9: dislocated elbow, Week 14: re-aggrivated left elbow.
In Week 9 his injury came when they were losing 38-7 with less than 8 minutes left in the game. In Week 14 the Commanders were 3-9. Did this franchise learn nothing?!?
