A few important pieces before we kick in. Our Guided Meditation Teacher Training begins in September, a three month journey into self leadership and how to teach experiential meditations. I have Retreat immersions on offer in October, December and February and only a couple of spaces left on each - these are are a process of you coming home to your true self. If your nervous system is frazzled, or you simply want to learn more about flow states and how to build adaptability and flexibility - Future Appreciation Foundations is for you. Also a hot tip at the bottom that will help.
THINGS TO TAKE CARE OF Working in the death spaces has taught me so much, brought me into life more fully, and helped me face old fears. Fears I see in a lot of people I work with. Often people I am working with, are not facing death immediately, but are learning to meditate, or joining me on a leadership training, or perhaps I am coaching them, and a fear of death pops its little head up. And there a few things I will help them work on and through that are powerful wake ups, gateways into more presence, and have a steadying effect. I thought I would share some of them with you. They’re deep invitations into seeing your own fear and resistance potentially to reconciling your own death. They can be incredible gateways as well into deepening a relationship and a friendship when shared.
What I know is this - if we do not prepare for our death, communicate our needs and instead in our avoidance leave it to our beloveds - to navigate in the thick mist of grief to try bring forth flickering memories of past conversations, trying to recall our wishes, or at worst, arguing bitterly with someone who believes we would want differently, it can make an already challenging time fraught. Horrific in fact.
To face our fears, and write down and make this accessible for times of need what we do want - is the difference between our death being a confusing, turbulent, challenging time that might needs decades to make peace with for our beloveds, or, it can be a more peaceful time due to trust, presence and honoring and knowing exactly what it is we wished for.
And this part is should we know we are dying or are non verbal (such as in a coma). The other parts are for sudden death also, an unexpected death that will more than likely take place. Loves notes for those left behind. Scared things that can be read and re-read as often as is needed.
TO CONSIDER
Document about your death - if you want to be buried or cremated. Should you have the experience of dying with people you love there, is there anyone that you particularly want there with you as you die, and anyone you don’t wish to be around and with you. It’s your death, don’t feel guilty get clear. It can be very empowering to the people who are trying to help you transition.
Do you want music played? What tracks? Do you want a lot of touch or feel comfortable with being in your spaciousness? If you’re non verbal in this transition, really outline what you feel you will be okay with and what you are not. Do you want a funeral, a wake, a celebration? How you want to be remembered? Write it all down and make sure your beloveds have access to it. I prefer digital such as google docs with shared access and a printed copy somewhere also. Just don’t rely on one printed piece of paper that only one person has access to if they can remember where they put it that is in a crisis.
Write a letter to your partner and or best friend on how you have lived your life, what you have loved experiencing in this fleeting thing we call life. Tell them what you love about them. What you will always remember and take with you when you transition into the other realms.
Do the same for your kids. Tell them all your most treasured memories of them. Their unique and special qualities. What you wish for them. What you would love them to reconcile inside of themselves and what you know to be true about them.
If you want to take it deeper, write a short piece for their wedding days or graduation days, or anything of importance should you not be there in person, for someone else to read. This can be very healing and impactful.
Write a letter to your grandchildren in case you never meet them. What you love about their mum/dad and what they were like when they were small, and now as you write to them. Tell them everything you hope to tell them in a life time, impart your wisdom, and what it means to live a full and rich life.
And if you can, write some short letters of forgiveness to anyone that you might not have a chance to forgive would you leave this Earth plane in a weeks time.
Then centre on yourself. What do you need to forgive yourself for? What needs healing and space on a soul plane. Write it down just for you.
Go gently and take care, as Ram Dass said ‘we are all just walking each other home’.With love and feel free to ask questions in the comments.

One of my favourite tools - BUFFERING. Short video below.
Man oh man do we all need more pausing, more space, not just for the Default Mode Network, but for our sanity, our ability to show up in the world and to reduce our sense of overwhelm. Also business owners please note - back to back meetings that stretch to the minute and have everyone scramble is a massive fail for productivity. Keep meetings short, tight and to the point as a company rule. And EVERYone should have short breaks in between.
