Thank You All

This wasn’t an easy decision for me.

But I’ve decided to discontinue The Blue Marble publication.

Between my full-time job and family obligations, something had to give, and unfortunately, the time I put into this publication each week is no longer sustainable.

For anyone who became a paid subscriber since The Blue Marble’s creation, I have already issued you a refund.

When I started this Substack in June of 2025, I wasn’t really sure what I wanted it to be. It was a side project to try and help myself discover how we can fix what is broken. And I’m happy to report that we have the capacity to fix every problem we’ve created.

The only thing stopping us is… well, us!

It’s easy to point fingers and put blame somewhere, but I want to challenge you to look inward. I want to challenge you to find the empathy toward a person you don’t understand, perhaps someone you don’t even like.

I’m not a fool. I know that we will never have a perfect utopia. There will always be new problems that arise from bad actors.

But the truth is, there are people out there working hard to make the world a better place. And the more of those people we have, the better.

Whether it’s non-profits, businesses, or a community rallying around a cause, there is so much GOOD in the world.

Of course, there’s a lot of bad too. I don’t want to diminish what’s going on across the globe with multiple wars, economic stress, environmental catastrophes, and human rights under attack.

But I wanted to show people the helpers, the ones who were putting their heads down and getting to work, and to connect people with resources to help improve their local communities.

I have interacted with so many wonderful people over the past year and have been inspired by so many of you.

Thank you all so much for your time, your attention, and your kind words.

I would like to leave you with this quote from Fred Rogers, who was one of my inspirations for starting this publication:

“When I was a little boy, and something bad happened in the news, my mother would tell me to look for the helpers. ‘You’ll always find people helping,’ she’d say. And I’ve found that that’s true. In fact, it's one of the best things about our wonderful world.” - Fred Rogers
