I recently read a post from someone who asked if they should tell someone else that their personal drama was costing them business.

The person wanted to work with the other person because they loved the work, but the perceived tardiness, broken promises and mismanagement of time gave this person pause.

And as the person explained that they value customer service above all, I thought, "Well hello, my little Aquatic."

  • Deserts believe that it's costing you business if it doesn't hit the center of the market and the widest audience possible using the best and most optimal tools, hooks, and copy.

  • Grasslands believe that it's costing you business if you don't own the market and weave trends into your business to stay relevant through every evolution.

  • Tundras believe that it's costing you business if you don't have a killer, no-brainer offer and a tweaked out funnel that pushes people over the paywall in as many ways as possible.

  • Taigas believe that it’s costing you business if you don’t stay true to yourself, show up consistently, and get people to keep engaging with your work.

  • Forests believe that it's costing you business if you don't attend to every individual's needs, protect every relationship, and nurture a deep sense of community and shared participation and responsibility.

  • Aquatics believe that it's costing you business if the experience isn't delightful from top to bottom, from packaging to customer support to format availability to special touches for your superfans.

Yes, but we all have lots of things that are costing us business, and that doesn't mean we don't get to be successful at business still.

No one is able to be good at every aspect of business, sales, or marketing.

Until you can build a team, it's natural and even expected to have areas that are costing you business. But don't let it stop you from building!

And don't lose focus on what makes you brilliant at marketing, sales, and business. The longer I study and develop this framework, the more I realize that we all have natural marketing and sales strengths, because it's ultimately just a skill of connecting with people in various ways.
