This edition is powered by BoardLens.
At SuperReturn in Berlin, a director told me the D&O cover on one of his boards had expired and nobody had noticed. Every decision taken in that window, every signature, and no protection behind any of it. It gave me the shivers. He asked if we could do something about it, so we built it.
That is how most of BoardLens gets built, from directors telling me what actually goes wrong. It reads your board materials, tracks what is due and what changed across cycles, and cites every figure to its page, in a private workspace that never trains on your data with full encryption. Independent directors run it on one board, GPs across the whole portfolio.
Start free at boardlens.ai, there is a demo company inside so you can try it without uploading anything of your own.
Every serious recruiter, auditor and consultancy now puts out board reports, podcasts and resources. But what is actually worth your time, and which few are so good that you will wanto to bookmark them and come back to again and again?
That is what the Vault is for: everything I actually use, in one place, sorted by what it is for.
I could probably have listed four hundred items, but this vault only lists what I truly enjoyed.
Nine sections, 74 items. Reading, podcasts, courses, templates, my own checklists, director networks across four regions, tools, the reports that matter, and books.
BoardLens Insights Hub. This is where I write longer governance pieces, less AI, more boardroom mechanics.
Alpha BoardBrief. A weekly brief on AI governance written for directors
NACD Directorship Magazine. NACD’s own publication. US-centric and often focused on public boards. Incredibly well researched and edited.
Deloitte Global Boardroom Program. Deloitte’s board research hub, published across markets. I enjoy their reports and webinars.
The AI Leadership Edge Of course I have to put our own newsletter here, written with a lot of care, bringing the best resources, news, and ideas to both independent and investor directors.
The AI Strategy and Governance Certification. Eight day executive course. Complimentary for the AI Leadership Edge readers. Built for directors, leaders and GPs who need to be credible on AI in a board meeting without becoming technical.
Frontier AI for Leaders and Boards. A six day briefing on what it means to lead and govern aI for your boards and your portfolio between now and 2030. For Paid subscribers of the AI Leadership Edge newsletter.

NACD board readiness. The standard US route for people preparing for a first board seat, and the credential most recognised by American nominating committees.
INSEAD corporate governance programmes. The European counterpart, with the international board perspective you would expect from INSEAD. Worth looking at if your boards span more than one jurisdiction.
Harvard board governance programs. I heard they have some great communities after taking their programs, such as Women Execs on Boards
Nasdaq Center for Board Excellence. Governance resources and peer sessions aimed at listed-company boards. Most relevant if you sit on, or are heading toward, a public board.
Enter the Boardroom (Nurole). Interviews with active chairs and directors on how they got their seats and what they actually do in them. Practical, UK-weighted. The one to start with if you are trying to get a first board seat.
Boardroom Governance (Evan Epstein). The most technical of the three. Deep on structures, dual-class shares, activism and regulation. Not background listening, but the best thing available if you sit on a listed board.
On Boards (Joe Ayoub and Raza Shaikh). Board effectiveness and the working life of a board: composition, culture, running better meetings. The closest in spirit to what I write about here.
