Have you ever stopped to admire a child at play? It’s quite mesmerizing to observe one without limits, to see the creativity that flows from a boundaryless, uninhibited, free spirit.
Maybe you’ve seen the child with an action figure or toy horse, grasped in hand, spinning it through the air in a circle-eight motion, using it to create her very own world, one built from nothing, right there; they see it when no one else can.
Children have unedited imaginations that are yet to be watered down with rules, religion, formal education, and the like. Can you remember your inner child? Each one of us has a remnant of the child still in us. Do you remember what used to bring your soul alive when you were unencumbered by structure and society and the supposed tos?
If you can visualize the thing that used to free you, there’s a pathway back to it. Creativity and wonder are waiting for you. If it’s missing from your memory, keep searching. Most adults have bent their passions into something they believe is acceptable to society, and while doing so, they’ve edited the very thing that brought them to life, but it’s never too late to find that passion again.
Take for example the artists throughout history who’ve brought the otherworldly into existence, things that endure with us still to this day. How did they do it? How did Mozart compose and perform music on a professional level by age 5? How did he produce more than 800 works in his short life of just 35 years? He never lost his imagination.
Mozart, along with Bach and Beethoven, became obsessed with the wonder of creating music; they followed their passions mercilessly, and never edited their souls according to modern fashion.
