Well, oops, I forgot to publish this last week in the craziness of our Boone family vacation being interrupted by a last-minute trip to Utah (I’ll share more details on that soon so make sure you’re subscribed to get the next Letter from TeriLyn).
I share my outfit round-ups every week like the good ol’ blogging days to reflect on whether something is really worth the price, if I like the outfit enough to repeat it, and what I’d change about a look or item. Hopefully it’s more helpful than just seeing a simple OOTD on Instagram. If I have a promo code for any of the brands included, they’re always at the bottom!

Dress - I saw this while browsing Target for teacher outfit ideas and immediately bought this for myself (as well as the black option). It’s so flattering, lined but not heavy, and it has pockets. The shoulders are adjustable for a thinner or wider “strap”. My only complaint is that it’s a little low (mostly because I have a short torso) so my bra shows if I don’t keep it pulled up. I have an XS.
Shoes - These were gifted by the brand years ago and they’re still one of my favorite heeled sandals. If you care about comfort but like cute shoes, you can’t go wrong with Larroude (and they have sales often). They run TTS.
Necklace - I ended up taking off the necklace after I took this picture since it felt like it was competing with the pattern and shoulder detailing. I prefer it with a plain top (which I wore yesterday, with another great Target find!)
PJs - I always size up in Pima-I wear a medium in LAKE Pajamas.
Dress - This is one of my all-time favorite dresses; it’s lightweight but provides great coverage. The sleeve length is perfect for my age since sleeveless + short can feel like a bit much at age 40. I’m wearing a S but probably could have done a XS since the belt is adjustable.
Bag - I was uncertain about this before I got it (gifted), but it’s become one of my most-used purses. I love the gold ring detail, and like that it’s a little bit smaller than my go-to mom purse, but it still fits my laptop.
Shoes - These ballet flats are gorgeous, but they’re not nearly as comfortable as the Mary Janes below that are half the price.
Jeans - I tried Sezane’s jeans last year and they were a big no. But, I still have a credit to use up from my return, and I thought this cropped style might work better. I knew to size up after last year’s big order and they’re perfect. They fit like a dream, are a super timeless wash and fit, and I especially love the slightly thicker hem. (I’m wearing a 4 and typically wear a 2.)
Sandals - I also ordered these sandals with my Sezane credit, but they just didn’t fit my foot well. I definitely don’t have a narrow foot, and they were super wide on me. I’m tempted to try again and size down 1 full size (I went down 1/2 size since I knew from my order last year that their shoes run large). They’re absolutely gorgeous and a great summer-to-fall sandal in the South, but after wearing them around the house for a bit, I sent them back.
Top - I never would have paid what this top costs, but now that I have it, I can tell the cost per wear is going to justify the price. It’s so comfortable, flattering, and a perfect summer-to-fall top.
Dress - I’ve realized lately that I don’t really like floral dresses (they feel a little too sweet) but I’ve been gravitating more towards geometric styles. And I love this dress — pictures don’t do it justice. I’m wearing an XS but probably could have done a S.
Ballet Flats - I have the mesh version of these but couldn’t ever justify the leather ones since I have a similar pair. But when ShopBop gave me a gift card to shop, I snatched these up. They’re so much more comfortable than the pricey ballet flats I have - the Mary Jane style just works better for my foot for some reason. (And Mary Janes go with everything.)
Pants - I shared the army green version last week and also just ordered the forest green. I am a denim girl through and through but am loving these for variety. (I have a 26P.)
Tee - I have this tee in 4 colors, and the green striped is probably my least favorite, but it was free, and it was clean, so I wear it. But the blue and white striped one is one of my favorite tops ever. It was one of two tops that I took to Utah last week. I have a size small but size down for a closer fit.
Mules - I bought these in the Nordstrom Sale two years ago and brought them back from Boone to see if I still liked the style since they have a similar pair included in the shoe section of the sale this year. Yep, still love them. Mine have some stains so I’m tempted to grab this year’s version.
Shorts - They’re a tiny bit stiff and scratchy, but maybe that will resolve after some wear? I’m wearing a S. They came with a matching wrap top, which was a big no for me, but I bet it’s a gorgeous style if you’re taller.
Top - This top came with a matching skirt that was a little too small, but I tried the top on with some other shorts and loved the pairing. I’m wearing an XS but could probably have gone up to a small.
Mini tote - I’ve had this for years and still love it.
Ballet Flats - these are the mesh flats I mentioned above. I’d keep them for life but they’re about to get a hole in the toe.
