EP2: Apple Music vs Spotify, Low Level Benchmarking!

There are a lot of music platforms out there to stream you songs, but we will talk about the most famous ones.

Have you ever wondered which music streaming platform streams you better music in terms of quality, I will be straight forward with the question; the answer is Apple Music.

Basically, these music streaming platforms uses compression algorithms to reduce the music file size and also to reduce buffering while streaming. The compression algorithm used by spotify are loudness normalization, OGG Vorbis, and AAC these algorithm for music compression are lossy which reduces the sound quality.

Where as apple music uses Apple Lossless Audio Codec (ALAC) which is not lossy so the music file size gets reduces lesser than spotify but the quality of music it streams is better.

The answer is still yes, in premium subscription you may be confused that spotify streams in 320kbps and apple music in 256kbps then how apple music is better the logic behind this is still same the compression algorithm running behind.

Spotify do this to reduce there database size and streaming bandwith and also to reduce buffering for users which also saves there bandwith. The reason behind it because spotify also have a lot of free plan user wheather on other hand apple music is paid by default and user base is also lesser.
