Getting to know Team 91 Charlotte/Team 91 South Midfielder Landry Struble
College Commitment: Washington and Lee University
High School: Charlotte Christian
Position: Attack
Graduating Class: 2027
What other schools did you consider? Monmouth

How did the school you chose separate itself from the others you considered?

The overall academics, location, and team culture/ values separated the school from all others during my process.

How would you describe your recruiting process overall?

My experience was stressful, unexpected, fun, and exciting. I came to understand that the recruiting process is unique to everyone but you can draw from the experiences athletes before you had as well.

What was your favorite part of the recruiting process?

Playing for something more and having higher stakes. It made games that much more fun to play. Also going to different colleges and finding out what you want in a college. It’s an eye opening experience and you find out things you never knew about yourself as well.

What opportunities and information assisted you during your recruiting process?

Not worrying about maybe one, bad game or who’s watching during your events. Just take the process patiently and know the school that fits you will find you.

Did you feel like you had support from the Team 91 staff during your process? If so, how?

Absolutely. Everyone with 91 is supportive but also very honest on where you stand during your process but also development. The coaches and staff truly want the best for us as players.

What individual or showcase events, if any, did you find the most beneficial during your process?

I personally didn’t have one showcase that particularly helped me the most. The competitive schedule we play for within 91 Charlotte and South puts us on the map each and every weekend we play.

What would you tell younger players or parents to help them prepare for the recruiting process?

I would tell both players and parents alike to be patient during this time. You cannot let the stress of making a decision or waiting to find the right fit get to you. Also, I would say work to play your best but don’t be selfish and keep working within the team environment.
