Visit Taragaon to take a step back into the past and enjoy our ongoing exhibition: Archiving for The Future. With glimpses of Bhaktapur, Mustang, Bungmati and the lives of people in various places of Nepal, you get to see the tales of old. Curated by Veeranganakumari Solanki and Sujan Chitrakar, join us as we explore Nepal all over again.

Artist in Studio #9, Saurab Koirala, will be having his first solo exhibition following his residency at Taragaon Next, where he will showcase creatures that you find at Taragaon and around Kathmandu, all made from waste materials collected in Kathmandu Valley.
Visual Echoes is an educational program that offers an opportunity to explore the traditional tools used by the people of Bungamati, Nepal, in their daily lives. This program highlights the significance of these tools from the 1960s, showcasing how they made life easier for the community. Today, many of these tools have been replaced by modern equipment, making them rare and culturally valuable.

What if filmmaking started from memory, conversation, and what’s already around us?
Join Rotterdam-based artist and filmmaker Mayıs Rukel for a two-day, low-budget filmmaking workshop focused on story, development, and editing. This hands-on session invites emerging filmmakers, artists, and storytellers to explore filmmaking as an accessible, creative, and collaborative practice.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own film projects or ideas- Mayıs will provide feedback, guidance, and practical tools to help take your project further. Through interactive talks, guided exercises, group discussions, and feedback sessions, participants will explore ideas together and begin shaping their own film projects. Expect practical tools, gentle guidance, and space for dialogue, with a focus on making meaningful films with limited resources.

Filmmaker Mayıs Rukel is having an open discussion with filmmaking students about his process, how to secure grants, how to work internationally and the power of in-depth storytelling in a film.
Mayıs Rukel is a Turkish artist, writer, and filmmaker. His work explores magical research, liberatory remembering, radical pedagogies, child-woven futures, and befriending ghosts. He received the GRA Award for Autonomous Arts 2020 and Mondriaan Fonds Kunstenaar Start 2023. His short fiction The Pendant was featured at the Nederlands Film Festival 2020, and his feature-length fiction-documentary Movement Song had its world premiere at IFFR 2026.

Movement and Music are both deeply intertwined to the human experience. In his movie, Movement Song, Mayıs Rukel explores movement and sound through various artistic decisions. Movement and music are both part of self expression and healing. Maitri Music Therapy Nepal, the organizers of this workshop, help bring both these aspects together as a way to reconnect with things that make us innately human.
