“माछाको रंगीन सपना (Machhako Rangin Sapana)” is an interactive, immersive, and engaging live storytelling performance by The Joy House Collective, created especially for young children. The story explores the theme of acknowledging one’s own strengths, told through the journey of a black-and-white fish who becomes fascinated by the colors of a rainbow fish. In search of these colors, the fish travels through the five elements — water, earth, air, space, and fire — discovering along the way that everything she seeks already exists within her. Performed in Nepali, this session combines live storytelling with hand-crafted puppets, active participation, and a joyful atmosphere where children are encouraged to imagine, respond, and connect with the story.
About the Art & Craft Activity:
Students will be provided with a blank template which they will fill in with their own imagination and colors for the fish. This activity allows children to pour their creativity and create their own story around the fish they have perceived.

Set in the tradition-bound city of Bhaktapur, within a Newar household, the film follows a 42-year-old mother pursuing bodybuilding while navigating societal expectations in Nepal. Told through the perspective of her two sons who also serve as co-authors and cinematographers, it traces their journey of documenting her life, only to discover a new way of seeing her beyond the role of a mother, while also revealing the rigid expectations imposed by society.
