How do you show others the beauty of their own light? How do you show others that the love they seek is already within and that it's not a matter of finding it or creating it, but awakening it and embracing it?

I recognize that some people aren't close to loving themselves, or even liking themselves as the words I say and write may not resonate for them. Speaking the words doesn't automatically make people believe good things about themselves, even though my perspective is that we are all love and light and the spark of the divine.

I believe most of us bury our feelings and emotions, not really sure how to vent them out, release the energy, or mitigate and transmute lower frequency emotions. Many of us internalize things, which doesn't have to cause an issue as long as we are transmuting the emotion and healing the trauma. However, we are more inclined to shove down any unexpressed emotions, allowing it to fester and become toxic.

To create an environment of harmony and peace within ourselves, we need to create a space of healing.

Healing will take us to a different perspective and new place of loving, yet it requires transformation into who we want to become.

When we hang onto the past, hang onto the past emotions, and relive the hurt, we are staying the same but expecting change to occur.

There is a popular quote, often misattributed to Albert Einstein, that states, ‘the definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over again and expecting a different result’.

How do we heal?

For myself, I try to see the issues and events from the past, the ones that have left me broken, as opportunities for growth. I find it difficult to see this in the moment because I'm wrapped up in my own emotions, wondering what happened and why.

At some point, I look at how I helped to co-create the situation. What is the dominant frequency within me? What is happening within me that I feel about myself, especially at a subconscious level?

I find this to be a lengthy process because I may not be able to clearly see what's happening in the sub-basement of my consciousness.

This is where I sit in meditation, listen deeply to my heart and allow my inner guru to speak. I may have to tap in more than once or twice as it can take time to untether what is lying beneath the surface. This isn’t about bringing up the old and reliving it. It’s about creating an understanding at a deeper level. We are complex beings, but don’t have to make the healing process complex.

The first step is always giving yourself the time and space to heal properly. Honor this time for yourself and view the healing process as a sacred process, deeply holding yourself in reverence.

This is an act of self-love.
