Protecting Your Calendar

Happy Friday, beautiful butterflies!

In a diaconal meeting one of the older wives mentioned that she writes the word “nothing” on the calendar periodically, protecting the “white space” of life. I love that.

The enemy seeks to keep us busy. Maybe in ministry more than anywhere. Even good things can distract us from God. It’s why he commanded a day of rest weekly. Refocus. Rest and worship. Reorder around a Perfect Good. Hint: There is only One.

I pray your weekend is filled with recreation. To re-create. This is how the world is renewed. Start at home and bring on the Butterfly Effect.

(PS-As I was writing this we got a call from our son and I was surprised how mightily I had to fight to give them my undivided attention. Put the phone down and stop multitasking!
