BIG DAY TODAY [for those of us that are Swifties, ofc]
I couldn’t stay up until midnight for the drop but when I woke up this morning, it was the first thing I turned on, haha - I’m not going to give a full breakdown review of it yet because I haven’t had a week with it, but first impressions: I love how upbeat it is, I love how unhinged and feral this version of Taylor is. It’s fiery, angsty, and different. Even though it’s still pop, it doesn’t sound like her other pop with the same producers (1989, rep).
The release party (movie) is later this afternoon and I’m excited to see the BTS and the video of the first single, The Fate of Ophelia. Then, immediately after, I’m heading to DC to the Stardew Valley Symphony of Seasons concert. Honestly, I’m a little overstimulated already with everything going on today and I have a feeling I’ll be a hermit this weekend.
Last week I mentioned Duet Display and being able to now use my iMac as a monitor for my MacBook Air. Here’s my one week update: absolute GAME CHANGER. No notes, honestly. It feels like such an upgrade with what I already have on hand.
I just updated this slow cooker split pea soup yesterday. I remember when I first made it back in 2011/2012. Like, I can still taste it. It’s so so good and I hope you try it this soup season!
While Aaron was getting his MRI on Thursday, I took myself out for a solo date and brought my Kindle with me. I would just like to say that making time for a solo date night is so invigorating and a great way to recharge.
I’ve been really into big arugula salads lately. I thinly slice white onions and cucumbers and toss them together with arugula and a dijon vinaigrette then top with a protein of choice. I had some zucchini that needed to be used up so I threw those on the grill along with the chicken. Omg, so filling and fresh!
Alright, I’m too distracted to write more. I hope you have an amazing weekend and let me know your first impressions of LOAS ❤️🔥
