Is there a place where my dreams can’t find me?
Mountains and I aren’t so different after all.

This year, I am publishing a series called The Ecology of Multispecies Households. Each volume will coincide with a season, winter being the first. Winter brings me inside, a place I call home, though not confined by four walls. As I’m writing this essay, it’s been exactly one month since I walked Big Berea Trail to Bull Creek Trail to White Pine Loop, a roughly 2.5-mile trek.

The world of our words is tactile. It feels like something to language.
