Suzanne Warye · Sober for Good by Suzanne Warye

My book, The Sober Shift, is the book I needed when I was facing my first sober summer. Grab your copy now!

My mom and my kiddos last weekend.

Can you believe it? Summer is almost over.

My kids go back to school in less than 2 weeks, and I’m not ready. I’ll be over here doing everything I can to slow down time. Sobriety helps with that, for sure.

Before we fall into the hustle and bustle of back to school, I want to take a minute and look back at your summer. If you don’t love to journal (I’m with you), maybe these questions will help you. Write down your answers so you can come back to them this fall when your mind starts to think that drinking is a good idea. (It’s not! You’ll regret it.)

What’s one thing you did this summer that you were scared you couldn’t do?

What surprised you most about a summer without drinking?

What was harder than you expected? What was easier?

When were you most glad you were sober? A morning, an event, etc.

What did you think you’d miss about drinking? What did you actually miss?

What do you want to carry into fall?

Who, or what, helped you the most this summer with your sobriety?

Choose one question and share your answer in the comments. Let’s support each other. 💛

I’m proud of you.

Keep going.
