The word “community” means many different things. For you, it might be most meaningful in terms of information, or of advice or access to role models or mentors. For other people it could mean friendship, shared humor, solidarity or support.

However we define community, though, the common theme that underpins all the ways we describe it is this: it makes us better.

A good community—whether it’s in web3, or it’s your local bike club or hobbyist group—pushes you to be better than you were. More skilled, for example, or more fit, helpful, aware, inclusive, or informed. We don’t do our best work, or become our best selves, in isolation.

And things are harder, without community. It was a big topic this week, as you’ll see from the highlights below. On that note, here’s a classic reminder:
