It’s a packed summer week in Stockholm, with the Culture Festival taking over the city, outdoor cinema at Rålis returning, world-class sailing on Riddarfjärden and plenty of smaller pop-ups to discover.

There’s also a crayfish party, Taiwanese and Japanese comfort food, creative workshops, vintage shopping and even a 2000s nostalgia night.

Monday–Thursday, August 10–13 | 12:00–16:00

With the Women’s U18 European Basketball Championship taking place in Kista, Stenbacka Torg is getting in on the action with four days of free basketball activities. Try out the new basketball court, join games and activities, and meet other basketball fans — all levels are welcome.

Wednesday–Sunday, August 12–16

One of Stockholm’s biggest free events takes over the city for five days. Stockholm Culture Festival fills streets, squares and stages across central Stockholm with live music, dance, performances, activities and cultural experiences — with free admission to the festival programme.

Wednesday–Sunday, August 12–16

Stockholm International Film Festival’s much-loved outdoor cinema is back. Bring a blanket, grab some food and settle in for a movie beneath the summer sky alongside thousands of other Stockholmers.

This year’s programme includes Pulp Fiction, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, The Lord of the Rings, Notting Hill and a Secret Cinema screening.

Wednesday–Sunday, August 12–16

Some of the world’s best sailors descend on Stockholm for five days of fast-paced team racing. Unlike longer sailing races, these are short, tactical battles where teams use speed, positioning and strategy to outmanoeuvre each other. Spectators can watch the action from the quays around Riddarfjärden.

Thursday–Saturday, August 13–15

Thursday, August 13

A very Swedish late-summer tradition takes over Sturehof. Expect plenty of crayfish, festive decorations, traditional drinking songs and a lively atmosphere as the Stockholm institution hosts its annual kräftskiva.

A phone-free evening designed around slowing down and connecting with other women. The small group will cook a meal together, explore gratitude through art and then gather around a beautifully set table to eat, talk and share the experience.

Kungsträdgården transforms into a street basketball arena for the grand finale of the Sweden 3x3 Tour. Watch some of Sweden’s top players battle it out in quick, high-intensity matches for the season titles, with entertainment and activities adding to the atmosphere throughout the weekend.

A.B Café hosts a one-day pop-up dedicated to homemade Taiwanese and Japanese comfort food. Choose from mapo tofu, braised pork belly or vegan mixed mushroom bento, each served with rice and homemade sides. There’ll also be homemade desserts and refreshing iced tea. Come early — it’s only running until everything sells out.

Saturday, August 15 | Evening

One of Stockholm’s biggest running events takes over Södermalm for a summer night of running, music and huge crowds. Midnattsloppet is much more than a race — the streets become part running course, part festival, with live music, DJs and entertainment along the route as thousands of runners make their way through the neighbourhood.

The main race is 10 km through Södermalm, with spectators lining the streets to cheer everyone on. Even if you’re not running, it’s a really fun evening to head to Söder, find a spot along the route and soak up the atmosphere.

Saturday, August 15 | 11:00–15:00

A special edition of Moveat celebrating the launch of Vinhaggorna’s new Haggan Cava. Follow a self-guided food route through Stockholm with five carefully selected food stops included in your ticket, starting with a glass of Haggan Cava at the first location.
