Thanks Uncle Jesse!

Hey Everyone!

Well, our latest Kickstarter is now in the books. What does that have to do with Uncle Jesse? Nothing. We’ll get to that in a minute. While the kickstarter for Monster Matador: Blood of the Matador #1-2 is finished, it’s still open for late pledges. If you’re old enough, you can probably guess who I’m talking about when I mention Uncle Jesse. Now what does he have to do with Matadors? Well, nothing. But he is the unlikely inspiration of my next Kickstarter Launch in March MERCY: IN PRISON.

MERCY: IN PRISON journeys back to 1975 follows MERCY HANSEN, a happy-go-lucky farm girl from Wisconsin who gets sent to a Philippines prison after getting caught with a brick of China White in her travel bag. Of course, she didn't put it there. That darn English prick Richard Hawthorne III did and she wants to get out of prison to get her revenge. Only problem is that she's not the only one out for revenge... and she'll be lucky to survive!

Now back to Uncle Jesse. My wife got my kids (7 and 10) into watching Full House and my daughter for a while would just walk around uttering Jesse’s catchphrase, “HAVE MERCY!” After about the dozenth time something clicked and I thought Mercy might be a cool name for a character. So I started asking questions, who, what, where, when… the usual. Around that time I had just watched 99 Women, which is considered the first women in prison film and, well, one thing led to another and here we are. This one was a lot of fun to write and Mick had a blast drawing it. It definitely comes through on the page and we look forward to sharing it with you.
