THE HANDYMAN

rThe other day Dick The handyman was asked to go to the barracks to fit some plaques to a board on the wall and to see Captain Kirk for instructions, Dick arrived at the barracks on time and security guards checked there list and found his name was on it and gave him directions to Captain Kirk’s office.

Dick knocked the door and Captain Kirk asked him in and escorted Dick to the mess room they walked up to the board on the wall to show Dick some very rareplaques and a large silver cup on a shelf below the plaques. Dick the captain said these are very very rare but any how I just thought I would show as we are very proud of these.

Dick I have some more plaques I would like you to fit in the next room can you do that for me Dick , Dick answered yes no problem I will have done in about an hour, The captain gave Dick the board and the plaques and Dick put them in the other room and then opened his toolbox picked up a pencil and measure tape and went over to the wall and marked up a line on the wall and made sure that it was level.

Now Dicks mind was somewhere else as the captain was a female soldier and she was gorgeous and his heart was in his mouth and he thought if he did a good job he maybe he would would be able to ask her out, He started drilling the holes to fit the board up and offered the board up and screwed the board to the wall and stood back to admire his work and it looked fine, He then screwed the plaques to the board one at a time making sure they were straight and level.

Are now all finished and it looked really grand and shortly afterwards the captain returned and admired his work and gave him praise, He blushed and asked her if she would like to go for a drink later and she was really happy to be asked and said yes I would be delighted to, come with me into the other room and I’ll check my diary so they entered the room and the captain noticed saw dust on the floor and looked up at the board and the plaques, There are drill holes and screws sticking out of my rare plaques, You have destroyed them she went to pick the silver cup off the shelf to find even that was screwed to the wall.

Dick composed his self and said, l take it we are not going for a drink then. (O Dick what have you done).
