THE STEADY STATE ENDORSES JIM HIMES FOR CONNECTICUT’S 4TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT

WASHINGTON — The Steady State, an organization of more than 420 former national security, intelligence, diplomatic, military, law enforcement, and homeland security officials, today endorsed Hon. Jim Himes for Connecticut’s 4th Congressional District.

Jim Himes represents Connecticut’s Fourth Congressional District and has built a senior intelligence-oversight profile through long service on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Before Congress, Himes worked in finance and nonprofit leadership and served in local government in Greenwich. In Congress, he serves as Ranking Member of the House Intelligence Committee, where his work centers on oversight of the intelligence community, constitutional limits on intelligence activities, national-security accountability, and protecting intelligence capabilities while ensuring they operate within American law and values.

Jim Himes demonstrates a consistent commitment to the rule of law, supports nonpartisan oversight and accountability of the Executive Branch, and upholds the democratic norms that the organization’s criteria require.
