Plotter: getting to where I ordered one

2026-05-27 00:00

I guess I’ll be writing a lot of posts related to the Plotter binder I finally ordered over the new few weeks. We’ll see how long I have things to write about.

Might be a while.

I first started to look at binders and play around with them together with notebooks with removable pages etc during the summer of 2023. And have tried a bunch of things other than Plotter over the months and years that have passed since then.

Most of the binders I tried I hated with a passion. Because they were cheap and the mechanism sucked etc. And pulling pages out of notebooks (or cutting them out) isn’t that great because if you have something on page 1 and then you have cut out 10 pages, and then you have a couple of more pages and then cut out another 10 etc things quickly gets weird to write on.

The closest to a working binder setup I had was when I used various types of paper clicks to stick pages to the back of Rhodia pads.

I did for a long time ago decide to give Plotter a shot once I had the money, and I figured out a way to order one. The economy and market both at large and my former role as a software developer consultant (I’ve moved to be a staff developer instead of a consultant) have been very unstable during the last 3 years.

But this spring I had some extra cash and decided to finally get one. I’ve been bitching to Brad for a long time about how bullshit Plotters International shipping” that covers the United States and Canada is, and kindly offered to help me get one when I was ready.

Thanks again Brad!
