Favorite recent sketch?

I mean - what doesn’t this page have?? A custom hand engraved pet portrait, bold bangles and ring stacks, fabulous statement necklaces… I have no notes. I would make this entire page of designs for myself if I could!

Recent inspirations?

Hot dogs (specifically S&P’s twin dogs lunch). S&P is right around the corner from us at Spur which fills me with joy - its an NYC lunch institution! Some of my favorite menu items are the twin hot dogs, Mel Brooks sandwich, and the pickle bowl.

Pickles. A salty crunch to bring one back to simpler times. Few of my problems cannot be eased somewhat by eating a pickle.

A cold glass of water - in the heat we've had this summer? Need I say more?

The NYC ferry system. If you can take the NYC ferry to work - this is your sign! Stunning city views, and the staff are frequently really into their jobs. (And they have a great social media presence - go follow them.)

Hand engraved jewelry. In most cases, there is something about hand engraved jewelry that feels so much more special than machine lasered engraving. Part of it is knowing someone took the care to carve each line, making little decisions along the way to bring the concept to life in the most beautiful version of itself.

Juicy antique cut diamonds. I have a weakness for antique cut diamonds and gems - their history and their individual, unique faceting and silhouettes speak to me in a way that modern diamonds often don't.

Jewelry is….

A form of self expression and a way to wear your memories. I find jewelry to be a great conversation starter - I love hearing the story behind what a person chose to wear that day. Did you get that bracelet on a fun vacation? Inherit a ring from a loved one? Purchase a necklace to commemorate a milestone or just because you wanted to? Tell me all about it please! I also believe this makes jewelry a cherished representation of your life and story.

You can never have enough….?

Snacks. As someone who goes from normal to hangry VERY quickly, I have always believed in the importance of having a snack handy at all times. A friend even once made me a custom tote that says “got snacks?”. I make sure to keep this bag well supplied. Here in the Spur studio, I am known to be an ally for anyone looking to get a little afternoon treat.

My belief in snacks has only strengthened now that my son is a toddler. All parents and caretakers know… never leave the house without snacks!
