Sadly, I’m in the latter camp, with one parent being ambulanced to hospital and the other needing more than a little looking-after at home. So all that downtime I’d promised myself has been shelved until 2027, and the next few weeks will be played by ear...

I’m going to leave this newsletter there, as my time has been curtailed by the many commitments that come with being in what my neighbour called “The Sandwich Generation” - those of us looking after our youngers and our elders at the same time.
I am dying to tell you more about everything - the new music album, the new podcast, the upcoming live events, and this afternoon’s full-body health scan (all in the name of research), but, with apologies, that will need to be another time.
