Consider utilizing a meditation corner curated for this series. This place could be a bedroom, office space, living room… now that you have envisioned a meditation spot, place your phone on do not disturb. Preferably, choosing a comfortable outfit works best. The timing of your meditation is just as important; some people are not morning people, and if that’s you— perhaps an evening routine is more suitable.

I often suggest that my clients consider a 10-15 minute time slot, and ease their way into the practice itself. And if setting an alarm provides an extra cushion, then, go for it.This week we will utilize the word: FOCUS!

Bring your attention to focus on the moment. Thoughts and feelings will come and go, but as you center thoughts—without judgement. This will become easier to focus on your breath. Begin this practice by immersing yourself to mindfully inhale and exhale. Listen with intention, close your eyes, think about your breath.

With your eyes closed, repeat these phrases::

  1. I am relaxed

  2. Fresh breath is flowing through my body

  3. I am renewed

  4. I am calm

  5. I deserve relaxation

Now imagine your environment surrounded by peacefulness, and after 5-10 minutes, slowly open your eyes.As you embrace the day, think of the word FOCUS.

Journal Prompt

Notice your breath, and focus the attention on the present moment. Practice sitting quietly for a few minutes before you start your day.
