collective yelling, smasoges, and crying over yarn

The weather is cooler here right now (anytime it dips below 70, you know I’m going to throw on a sweater), and even though it’s obviously going to warm back up, I’m letting myself believe the delusion that maybe we can just go ahead and skip to fall? Maybe?

On to the joy! Here we go…

✿ I didn’t watch every single game of the World Cup, but I watched almost every single game. It was glorious and I miss it already. I mostly watched the games at home, but thought that maybe I’d join Tio and Tia and Yaya (my brother, his wife, and my mom, respectively) along with a horde of other people to watch the final. That way we could all shout at the screen together. We did. And when the President was shown on screen the boos were overwhelming, and I just really felt a part of something, ya know?

✿ I was explaining what silk mohair yarn was to Finley, and she goes, “So it’s worm rope and goat hair?” And that is now how I will refer to silk mohair.

✿ The girls went to a little summer camp during the mornings this week so Waylon and I got on some walks together, and oh my gosh, I forgot what quiet sounded like.

✿ One of my good friends went to Norway to visit her brother and then sent me a huge box of yarn. Oh, what’s that? You’re wondering if I cried? I bawled.

✿ Rowan on my birthday- “I want to give you a smasoge (massage) for your birthday.” *rubs my arm lightly* “Doesn’t that feel good?”

✿ I turned 36 yesterday, went to a winery with my family, and started on my next pattern (sneak peek below). All I’m saying is 36 looks good so far.

✿ Currently reading The Antique Hunter’s Death on the Red Sea, which is the 2nd book in The Antique Hunter’s Guide to Murder series, and I’m already almost done. If The Thursday Murder Club is a 10/10, then I’d give this a 9/10.
