Welcome to Slow Brew Sunday, the newsletter that helps you start your week with a clear mind and full cup. 🍵 From intentional shifts and gentle productivity tips to personal stories and encouragement, I hope our cozy corner of the internet gives you what you need to ease into your week.
Hiya friends,
After months of being in limbo or simply not being able to share some things, everything is about to come spilling out over the next few weeks. Get ready!
Things are finally moving forward with our house reno, and I’m about ready to share the full story of what the hell went wrong with our multi-gen house that caused me to sprout about 1000 new grays.
But on the much more exciting end of things, I’ll also be sharing my book cover design and opening up pre-orders next week (!!). Eeeep, cannot wait!
More on all of that very soon. In the meantime, hello from Dallas! I’m hanging out at my uncle’s for the next 10ish days, watching his cats. I am very much a dog person, but his cats are quite snuggly and sweet, so I cannot help but adore them. Keira also loves the kitty snuggles.
My home base has been changing a lot lately between moving in with my parents and now housesitting, so I’ve been holding onto the simple things that help me feel more grounded. I’ve since learned I don’t necessarily need a whole-ass routine to feel settled somewhere. A few familiar things go a surprisingly long way:
Bring my favorite cup. ^^ You probably know the one if you follow me on IG. I literally bring it everywhere. But drinking out of the same mug makes exploring a different city or getting cozy in a new kitchen feel a little more familiar.
Keep my matcha ritual the same. Different house, different countertops, same morning flow. I bring what I need to make it exactly how I like it, and having that one cozy part of my morning helps me feel good and grounded.
Unpack instead of living out of the bag. Even if we’re only somewhere for a few days, I like putting my toiletries by the sink, hanging up a few clothes, and giving our things a home. It tells my brain: okay, let’s just be here now.
Cheers to this nomadic season.
Psst… I yap a lot, so if this email gets truncated in Gmail, click “view in browser” to read the entire post.
Wherever I land, I bring the cozy with me.
Notice the small things that makes an unfamiliar space feel more like your own. May it’s the special mug, your fave matcha, or a few outfits unpacked… What's YOUR non-negotiable?
🍲 Easy & delicious — Been loving this Oma seaweed soup! I ate homemade miyeok guk for weeks postpartum, so it’s really nice having Oma on hand for a quick side dish to my meals, especially during this crazy moving time. Keira loves it which is always a plus!
📚 Cue the nostalgia — Raise your hand if you remember the Scholastic Book Fair ✋
🎧 Playlist reco — Been enjoying this instrumental beats playlist to lock into hours of writing. It gets me in the flow, no vocals, but not too space-y sounding.
