Lobo Vs. The Tooth Fairy

Let’s kick it off with a classic!

Lobo #6 is in comic shops today! I was joined by amazing artist and old friend Riley Rossmo on this issue and you are all definitely in for a treat for your eyes! He absolutely crushed it.

Riley and I have been friends for a lot of years and we’re cut from very similar cloths when it comes to our tastes in stories, art, movies and, well, everything. Back before I filled my days with writing and needing to be in a quiet room alone, I spent hours everyday on video chat with Riley and other artist friends like Jason Howard, Ryan Stegman, Daniel Warren Johnson, Jake Parker and a bunch of others who would drop in and out. During that time DC was launching Black Label and an editor reached out to gauge my interest in doing a project there. I talked to Riley about teaming up with me. We both loved the hell out of Lobo so we lined up a meeting to pitch the project. I think it was moving in a positive direction but at the same time I got offered to relaunch Deadpool at Marvel and that was hard to pass up. Riley went on to kill it on several DC titles and I went and wrote the Merc with a Mouth. My dream of writing Lobo was just that. A dream.

Knowing how much Riley digs Lobo and how much I love Riley’s art, when it was time for a fill-in I thought it was finally time for us to tag-team The Main Man. No. Not like that. Get your head out of the gutter creeps.

We all loved the Christmas Special back in the day and the Easter Bunny made a few appearances, so I thought it would be fun to add to the tradition in our run. Enter THE TOOTH FAIRY!

Jorge designed this beautiful beast and tossed it up for Riley to dunk on everyone with it! I won’t give you anymore about the issue itself because want you to go read it. I’ll just say it was a pleasure to finally work on a book with Riley and I couldn’t be more happy with how it came out. There’s nothing better than two friends making comics together.
