I’ll kick off today’s post with some old school rock from 1990, the year Giffen, Bisley and Grant put out Lobo #1 at DC Comics! “I'm the dog who gets beat! Rub my nose in…”
I’m trying to create a new daily routine here at the studio. One where I get back to daily sketching again. I know, I know. I’ve talked about this over and over. I start and stop and rinse and repeat when it comes to the on again off again nature of me daily sketching. Whatever, just go with it people! Enjoy my janky ride as I try to get back into trying to draw every day again!
I created another list of word prompts for the days where I don’t have anything directly inspiring me to stretch my drawing muscles.
The first word on the list was DOG. I figured I’d draw one of my favorite things about Jorge’s current run on our Lobo series…DAWG!
I love writing in the little Dawg asides here and there through the pages, but love when Jorge surprises me with funny Dawg gags that I didn’t write it. Or he plusses up one of my written gags with an even funnier visual of the gag. Run out to your shop and get all 5 current issues to see the genius of Jorge’s take on Dawg!
I’m going to pop the in a quick, short newsletter and send them out on the day I do them instead of holding them back for a collect all newsletter. I want to recapture that excitement I used to have posting to my Blogspot on the daily, and introduce some of you to that are too young to remember the daily excitement that we all had for artists blogs. We’ll see if you all enjoy some new art showing up in your inbox on the regular like I did opening up my blog reader back in the early 2000’s.
