Born in Bellingham, Washington, Bob Hitz served as a marine biologist with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and later NOAA. His decades of research aboard the R/V John N. Cobb helped document the evolution of U.S. fisheries management and marine discovery. He can be reached at bobh@sitka2.com.
