I’ve started this intro about ten times. Deleted it about ten times too. So let’s just wing it.
This week has felt a little quieter, in the best way. I’ve been easing into a new routine, enjoying some sunshine by the pool, and making a quick trip to Nordstrom for the Anniversary Sale. It felt good to get out of the house and do something that felt... normal.
Let’s jump into this week’s favorites.
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: What I Actually Bought
I finally made it to Nordstrom to shop the Anniversary Sale in person, and I have to admit... I walked away feeling a little underwhelmed by a decent portion of the sale. At least at my store, there wasn’t much that felt exciting or new.
Beauty, on the other hand? That was a completely different story.
There were still so many great sets available, and I ended up bringing home a few favorites.
Donna Karan Cashmere Mist Deodorant (3-pack) If you know, you know. I wait for this set every year because it’s one of the items I always purchase. It’s one of those products I never want to be without and ALWAYS have backups.
Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powder + Brush Set I was already planning to repurchase the powder (it’s one of my all-time favorites), so getting it bundled with one of the Hourglass brushes made this an easy yes. The brush wasn’t something I needed, but it ended up making the refill feel like an even better value. Combined these are normally over $120.00!
These are one of my favorite ways to moisturize, hands down. I picked up the Tonka Bean + Coconut scent (already sold out, of course) plus the Anniversary Sale exclusive set - two stones in Frankincense, Rose, & Neroli with the stone holder. You just glide it on like a bar of soap and it melts into your skin, no greasy residue, no waiting around for it to absorb. A little goes a long way, so one stone lasts forever. If you’ve never tried the brand, this sale is the easiest way in.
They still had quite a few of the popular beauty exclusives available, including several Parfums de Marly fragrance sets, which honestly surprised me this late into the sale. This is MEGA expensive but honestly, it smells heavenly!
And then there’s the purchase I didn’t make...
I cannot stop thinking about the Armani blush duo. Two gorgeous blushes for around $53 feels like such a good value (normally $80), and I have a feeling I’m going to end up ordering them before the sale ends.
As far as the shoe section, I picked up two pairs of the New Balance 327s. They’re one of my favorite shoes to wear. I find them so comfortable. I think they can be worn casually or even a little bit elevated. I grabbed a pair that had the pink, and then I grabbed just a simple pair that was just black and white. They were both on sale for $79 each.
I saw Birkenstocks, even the Arizona Big Buckle in pink and I almost pulled the trigger. I have had a pair of Birkenstocks for years and they’re so comfortable.
They had a lot of flats from Dolce Vita. I’d love to actually browse more of these because there were some great deals to be found.
They had Uggs on sale. An item I love to gift! They’re like walking on soft clouds.
While I know these are incredibly popular, I did not love the Adidas Japan Style that they had featured. It just wasn’t a style for me.
If you’re shopping the sale, I’d definitely take a look at the shoe department. There were still plenty of sizes and some really solid finds when I was there.
I’m still making my way through Crescent City because the internet has collectively convinced me I need to finish the series before the next ACOTAR book comes out in October. 🤡
I’m not going to lie... she’s a big book.
I haven’t been reading much else because every time I pick it up, I know I’m settling in for a while. The world-building definitely takes some patience, but I’ve heard from so many people that it’s worth sticking with.
Without spoilers: When did you get hooked? I need the encouragement.
My follow-up doctor’s appointment went well, and I’m feeling hopeful about the plan moving forward. I’ll share more about my journey with all of this soon.
Sunny afternoons that have turned into much-needed pool days.
A trip to IKEA where I actually found everything I went for. It had been way too long since my last visit.
Listening to my niece perform songs from Hamilton with complete confidence. She’s absolutely obsessed, and it makes me smile every single time.
Walking into the room to find Penelope sleeping and sporting naturally crimped tail hair. I don’t know where those little waves come from, but I’m obsessed. She has them on her ears, also!
I hope you have a wonderful week! Whether you’re shopping the Anniversary Sale, getting lost in a good book, or simply soaking up these long summer evenings, I hope you find a few little joys of your own.
I’ll see you back here next week!
