I find it helps if I do simple tasks like making a cup of tea or just rearranging a small area of my desk helps me to get back to work quickly, instead of being distracted from the task by doing a more time-consuming task elsewhere.

If I want to be perfect, I find it does prevent me from getting started. I read in at least two places, that in order to get started, I can reduce my expectations of the outcome of the task and just finish it.
As my skills are honed, I can make it better after a few tries.

Start with a small chunk of the task. Eg. To rebuild a patio. You can just make a list of things to buy. On writing a post- you can take notes on an app on the go and consolidate them when you have time during a set time of the week.
Through apps, spouses, etc.
Preferably with a common goal
