Fear & Me

Fear, I have come to realise, drives the world. There could be more depth to it, which I am yet to discover. Fear seems to be deeply embedded in the actions and reactions of the world. Advertisements instil FOMO, while social media accentuates the same fears and insecurities within personal circles. Life’s decisions often stem from a fear of not being relevant, important, supported, or acknowledged. All forms of fear come forth materialistically with what we choose to consume — whether tangibly or intangibly. From feeding ourselves with information – gossip to news, building homes and assets to amassing more, hoarding clothes and accessories to conform to a certain social code. 

The future is uncertain. Always has been and always will be. Half the life is almost over, I need to do what fulfils me and not what anyone else expects of me. I probably decided to take birth for a purpose. I intend to dedicate my life to the purpose as it unfolds in the situations of life. Astrology says I will prosper far away from my birthplace, but how do I stay away from the place I find homely solace in? I wonder if it is the familiarity or some karmic debt or ancestral work that brings me in this time and space. Whatever the reason might be, it is the urge to do the right thing, as per my evolving understanding, which keeps me going. The meaning of that “right” keeps evolving, and for now, it is ecological balance. The thing I need to be mindful of is framing meaning, urgency, and the path, less from the outside noise and more from the heart and intuition. This approach helps me observe where very structured, linear logic tries to take precedence unconsciously. I need to unlearn trying to fit external parameters, question them more often than before, and ask questions without fear.
