If you’ve followed me for a while, you know I’m extremely selective about what earns a place in my closet. It’s mostly vintage finds and designer pieces I’ve collected, had altered, or scoured the world for because, quite frankly, I’m picky af.
And I bring that exact same energy to everything I design for Two Halves.
Every piece we make starts with stomething I genuinely feel is missing from my own wardrobe. I obsess over the fit, the fabric, the details, and whether it’s something I’d actually reach for over and over again.
Because if I wouldn’t wear it, I ain’t gonna sell it.
This rib knit tank is exactly that. The perfect everyday summer tank I’ve wanted but could never quite find—which is why I made it myself.
I’ve actually been wearing the sample for months (and if you follow me on Instagram, you’ve probably already seen it approximately 400 times), so I’m ridiculously excited that I can finally share it with you.
Spencer Sutherland once said, “I wish men would start serving cvnt again in music,” and I wholeheartedly agree.
Give me the vocals. Give me the theatrics. Give me an outfit. Give me a man performing like he knows there are people sitting in the very last row.
“Somebody’s Gonna Love Me” is the ear worm of my late summer playlist.
It’s big. It’s dramatic. It’s wildly earnest. It’s the kind of song that makes you want to stare dramatically out of a car window and pretend you’re in the final act of a movie about your own life.
Basically, chicken soup for my dramatic af performing-arts-kid soul.
More of this in music, please. 🖤
Let me be very clear: this is not Halloween decor. This is my glassware of choice 365 days a year.
If you’ve followed me for any length of time, you know Halloween is basically a personality trait in the Beech house, so naturally Pottery Barn’s skeleton stemware found its way into my collection years ago.
The difference is, when November 1st rolls around, I don’t pack it away.
Why would I?! It’s skeleton glassware. It’s perfect.
Wine night? Skeletons. Dinner party? Skeletons. Random Tuesday night on the couch? You guessed it. Skeletons.
At this point, spooky is less of a season in our house and more of an interior design philosophy.
Pottery Barn brings the collection back every year and it sells out SO fast, so if you’ve ever been influenced by the skeleton glasses you’ve undoubtedly seen me drinking out of on Instagram, this is your warning: do not hesitate to add to cart.
Some people have everyday glassware and special-occasion glassware.
I have skeleton stemware. 💀
I have no interest in aging gracefully. I want to age like a god damn threat.
Every line earned feels like another stride toward the kind of confidence I didn’t even know existed in my twenties, because Hell hath no fury like a woman aging out of f*cks to give. 🔥
For me, sometimes that looks like leaning into a full face beat on a random Thursday morning for absolutely no reason other than... I f*cking feel like it.
I don’t wear makeup for anyone else. Not for my husband. Not because I’m worried someone might take my photo. Not because I don’t like the way I look without it.
I wear it for me. Full Stop.
Because makeup is fun. Because I like the ritual of it. Because some days I want bare skin and other days I want to look in the mirror and see a stark red lip staring back at me.
And right now, that red lip is NARS Powermatte High-Intensity Long-Lasting Lip Pencil in Kiss Me Deadly. It’s bold, it’s unapologetic, and it makes me feel exactly how I want to feel when I put it on. Best of all? It lasts all day because I’m busy and don’t have time to reapply a lip every 10 minutes.
Okay, your turn: what’s the thing you love that other people just don’t get?
The item you wear to death. The song you play embarrassingly loud. The mildly unhinged thing in your house that makes absolutely perfect sense to you.
Basically, I want to know the thing that’s unapologetically, undeniably you.
No gatekeeping. Drop it in the comments so we can all enable each other accordingly.
Until next time. 🖤
xx, Shenae
