Dear paid subscribers,
You might have noticed that I took a break last week. I was ensconced in an offline utopia that I expect will cast a warm seaside glow into my future posts.
However, I have also taken part of this time to prepare a little thank-you gift. I have now caught up on audio recordings of my weekly posts. Here you will find a full podcast library of read-aloud versions for all weekly posts since I started Chronoscope in January of this year.
Several of you have told me that you really enjoy this format, or it is easier to work into the rhythms of your day. I know that AI and even the Substack app can provide you with a more professional robot voice than my own quavering one, with my ums and ahs, but I trust many of us are trying to keep things human, which means authentically rough edges. Plus, I’m not sure robots know when a line is supposed to be funny.
The average podcast run time is about 10 minutes. I will continue to send you notices of new ones, which I’ll strive to make available within 24 hours of the written post. If you don’t like your inbox filling up, you can opt out of emails by going through the Substack app and playing with your settings.
As a paid subscriber, you will always have access to the full podcast library as well as the full archive of written posts on the Chronoscope website, where you can browse or catch up at any time.
THANK YOU for the past six months of support. Your encouragement and the weekly practice of creative reflection have restored my joy in writing that the academic grind had threatened to erode.
warmly,
Shannon
