As you know, I’m currently doing a Summer Drink Series (hopefully you know lol but if not, you can check out the latest episodes here), and while this drink isn’t officially part of the series, it’s just as refreshing, functional, and delicious as the other drinks I’ve been sharing.

This Nettle Rose Arnold Palmer checks all the boxes — it’s refreshing, made with wholesome ingredients, it’s functional, and something I can sip on all day.

Why I made this drink combo:

Lately, I’ve been focused on reducing inflammation in my body, so I booked a lymphatic massage. My masseuse explained that she could see inflammation throughout my body and recommended I focus on reducing the congestion. She suggested I move my body daily with heated workouts, eat and drink more anti-inflammatory foods, manage my stress, get adequate sleep, and schedule monthly lymphatic drainage massages.

Funnily enough, I thought I was already doing all of these things, but sometimes when one is out of whack, it impacts everything else. I’m pretty sure the inflammation I’ve been experiencing is due to stress and lack of quality sleep. So I’m officially buckling down and giving my body and mind the love it deserves.

As part of my ingredient prep for the week, I made a large batch of nettle rose tea using loose leaf tea from my pantry. I originally bought loose leaf nettle tea because it’s good for those of us with low iron, but I later learned that nettle tea also has strong anti-inflammatory properties. Dried rose petals in tea help reduce stress and are packed with antioxidants, which is great for skin health. By now, you probably realize why I put these two together to help me on this journey.

If you’re looking to buy loose leaf tea, I highly recommend checking out a local herbal shop near you or ordering online. I get mine in-person from Mountain Rose Herbs and Market Spice here in Seattle.

After making a batch of the nettle rose herbal tea, I wanted a fun way to enjoy it throughout the week. I mean, yes, I can just warm it up and sip on it that way, but I’ve been loving Arnold Palmers (half tea, half lemonade) lately, so I decided to make one using fresh lemons — and it was so refreshing! I’m actually sipping on a glass of it as I write this post 🤤 and I hope you get a chance to make it!
