One of the best revelations from my ongoing contemplation of Human Design and the Gene Keys is that everyone has a unique GENIUS about them.
In Human Design, your Incarnation Cross is described as “something to do with your life’s work” - but it’s glossed over, barely mentioned in most books, and maybe just a few lines or a paragraph devoted to it in typical readings.
It’s still fairly difficult to find a proper explanation of your Incarnation Cross, despite our ‘life’s work’ being pretty important info!
Since it’s an obscure part of the Human Design system - of course, it’s become one of my particular areas of fascination and focus. :)
I believe that Richard Rudd’s teachings, the Gene Keys, do a phenomenal job of picking up where Human Design left off.
In the Gene Keys, our Activation Sequence is made up of the four Gates of our Incarnation Cross. Each Gate has a high and low frequency theme, a ‘victim pattern’ and a ‘siddhi’ exaltation, too.
When I look at the individual Gates, or Gene Keys, that make up someone’s cross - there’s a particular flavor that goes along with both the Line number of each Gate (this will relate to your Profile numbers), as well as the particular placement of each one…
For example, I have Gate 61 as my Conscious Sun - gift of inspiration, love of mystery - which has to do with my Life’s Work and Personality… But Gate 61 would express quite differently for me, if it was in the position of my Unconscious Earth instead. The Earth and Sun are opposites, after all!
These nuances are quite complex, so they can become pretty hard to quantify in a book or report. They’re best explored in conversation with someone who’s well-versed in what the Gates mean individually - as well as the meaning of the planets and lines, and the differences between the conscious and unconscious aspects of our Design..!
Adding in the animal archetypes of each Gate adds another rich layer, especially when we start looking at the physical body-elemental’s priorities in contrast with the conscious mind/soul/personality. Sometimes a picture or story can really convey 1000 words, especially when we want to understand ourSelves more deeply.
If Human Design is a ‘blueprint’ - then I see the Gene Keys as light codes in our genetics that unlock our potential for growth and wisdom!
