Let me tell you a story.

Let me share a story with you. And you may have heard it before.

A giant warrior marched between enemy lines during a battle, challenging a single opponent to determine the outcome of a war. A young shepherd answered the call against the fully armed giant with only a slingshot, his shepherd’s staff, and some rocks from a nearby stream.

If you’re catching on, this is the story of David and Goliath. Where a small but mighty shepherd defeated a literal giant.

Now, I know a David and Goliath fight when I see one.

Far too many Americans feel like they’re up against a giant. With prices rising, rural hospitals closing, and the fight for basic rights feeling — at best — like an uphill battle, working folks are wondering if they have no chance to get even the smallest of victories to simply make ends meet.

It shouldn’t have to be this way. Working families getting ahead — and staying ahead — shouldn’t require a miracle like in the fight of David vs. Goliath. But, as long as we continue down the road of failed policy, corruption, and greed that politicians like Cindy Hyde-Smith are advancing, it’s only going to get worse.

That’s why I’m running for Senate. But we’re in a David and Goliath battle of our own.

Cindy Hyde-Smith and her MAGA billionaire buddies have built up a warchest ready to defeat anyone and everyone in their path. They’ve stopped at nothing to smear me and our campaign, doing whatever they have to in order to win this election.

But then there’s us. A campaign that refuses to accept the support of special interests and billionaires, is ready to take on our opponent, and knows the fight isn’t easy but shows up anyway.

David didn’t defeat Goliath without the courage to take on a fight despite the odds being against him. And I’ll be honest, trying to be elected the first Democrat to the Senate from Mississippi in decades aren’t necessarily the best odds. But I’m ready to fight and win.
