A few weeks ago I sat in a room with a hypnotist.
Not the kind with a pocket watch and a velvet cape.
The kind who has helped some of the highest-earning salespeople in the country rewire the way they think, close deals and operate their businesses.
Within the first twenty minutes, he said something that completely reframed how I think about income.
He said:
“Your brain doesn’t know the difference between what you want and what you expect. It only knows what you’ve already decided is true.”
I’ve thought about that sentence every day since.
What Hypnosis Actually Is
Most people think hypnosis is about making someone cluck like a chicken on a stage.
That’s not it.
Hypnosis is about accessing the subconscious mind. The part of your brain that runs on autopilot. The part that makes 99% of your decisions before your conscious mind even gets involved.
Your conscious mind processes about 150 bits of information per second.
Your subconscious processes 50 million bits per second.
So when people say, “I want to make more money,” but nothing actually changes, it’s almost never because they don’t know what to do. It’s because their subconscious hasn’t accepted the new identity yet.
The conscious mind sets goals. The subconscious either supports you or quietly sabotages you.
The Identity Problem Nobody Talks About
Here’s what actually blocks most people from their first $10K month.
It’s not strategy. It’s not knowledge. It’s not even time.
It’s identity.
Your brain is wired to stay consistent with who it thinks you are. If deep down you still see yourself as someone who “just got started,” “isn’t ready yet,” or “doesn’t have enough experience,” your behavior will match that story every single time.
You’ll price low because people like you price low.
You’ll undersell because people like you undersell.
You’ll procrastinate because people like you aren’t fully committed yet.
The hypnotist called this the gap between your desired identity and your installed identity. The gap is why people stay stuck even when they know exactly what to do.
The shift doesn’t happen when you learn more.
It happens when you become someone different.
The Three Things That Actually Change the Wiring
This is where it gets practical. The hypnotist broke it down into three things.
