Our dreams, our longings, the things we care about and want to become - are so often the last things we tend to in our life. It’s far too easy to get caught up in the busyness and “shoulds” of modern life.
Yet in interviewing almost 400 women for the Dreamworks Project, one thing (OK, more than one thing) has become apparent: to create a dream, or master a skill, we must tend to it.
This is why I host monthly Dreamcraft sessions.
They are time for us to come back into relationship with a project we want to work on, a dream we want to create, or a hobby that we’ve not practiced for too long. And, even better, to do this in the company of other women who also want to dedicate the time to working on something that matters to them.
The next DreamCraft Session is this coming Monday 20th July (details below). I’m looking forward to welcoming those of you who can come - you’re welcome to drop in for whatever time you have!
Simply bring yourself, something you wish to devote your time and energy to, and whatever you’ll practically need for that.
For those of you who are joining for the first time, this is a gentle, shared space for women. We will begin simply by taking a few moments to settle, to share how we are arriving, and to name what we would like to give our attention and energy to.
From there, we move into an hour of shared creation – cameras on and sound off. This shared space creates a sense of steadiness that many people find both grounding and freeing. You are held by the group, without being pulled away from your own creative process.
During this time, you are free to work in whatever way feels right. At the end, we’ll close by gently bringing our attention back to our gathering. There will be time to share if you wish, and equal respect for silence if you do not.
