Folks. After 5 years and £10,000 in immigration fees, I now have what is formally known as indefinite leave to remain in the UK. That does NOT mean I am any less Canadian. It just means I can come and go to my tiny village in Scotland as I please, where my husband and my wee dog live.
Going through UK immigration, Luxembourgish immigration and Canadian immigration (for Antoine) processes have taught me that this is where prejudice is enshrined in law. Godspeed to anyone trying to change their country of residence but especially those less privileged than I am. If you need to decompress about your experience, my ear (and my inbox) is open.

Enough of that. Now that I’ve got ILR… I’m coming back to Canada (for a month).
Talks, baby.
I’ll be swanning around Folk Music Ontario in Ottawa Oct 14-18, mentoring a talented artist and (get this) leading a workshop on holistic health for the touring musician. Space is limited, sign up! Somebody pinch me, please.
Records, baby.
I’m joining forces once more with Johnny Payne (Turned to Gold, The Shilohs, Mapache (producer), Impossible Way of Life podcast) to make a new record. We’re camping out at his farm in Sooke BC, making the record in an old barn. Neil Young eat your heart out. It’s gonna sound like Turned to Gold, but better.
