Sam Ray · Counter-Narcissist Intelligence

As Counter-Narcissist Intelligence continues through its third year, a lot of thought has been dedicated to finding the best ways to help more individuals, groups, and societies better understand the mysteries and more positively defend themselves from the malignant narcissists, sociopaths, and psychopaths in our midst.

Thanks to many kind words and financial encouragements, there is no doubt the steady growth of the CNI community, which now has almost 4000 subscribers and over 17,000 followers, results from a growing awareness that people with narcissistic disorders are much larger percentages of our societies than most had previously realized. I know, I was in the dark too until the late 2000s, when I discovered a friend had been caught in a manipulating sociopath’s web.

For those unfamiliar, yes, we are talking about the kinds of people who have what are essentially incurable personality disorders that drive them to shamelessly try to acquire all the money and power in their world and be everyone’s dictator, because these disorders are compulsive.

Imagine what you would do if you had little to no conscience and an emptiness in your soul you could never fill. Only then will you begin to conceive the utter shamelessness that is almost unfathomable to those who have not been forced to deal with one or more of these toxic predators.

Ergo, most can’t or won’t stop until stopped, which is why CNI was forced to conclude that only firm barriers with severe consequences stop them. Sadly, it is rarely deeper than a primal urge to soothe the trauma that broke them and/or to fill the bottomless emptiness they “feel” inside themselves via an unfair nature or cruel nurture.

If you ever want to cause a groomed child of a malignant narcissist to lose all self-control, never hold them accountable, and then give them money and power. That is when you can observe how they are psychologically incapable of handling things responsibly and acting in the public’s interest. Oh wait! 🙄

As 🦂s can’t resist their nature to sting even if it kills them,
narcissists can’t resist hoarding money & abusing power, even if it kills them & us.
Now imagine a malignant narcissist, sociopath, or psychopath with absolute power.

Using their narcissism against them

On the bright side, one of humanity’s greatest strengths over the vast majority of these types of clinical narcissists is that we are cooperatively open to listening to and taking the good advice of others.

Almost comically, these types of pathologically fragile egos always need to believe that they never need anyone’s help with anything, they know everything already, and they can do everything by themselves.

Essentially, their egos are too fragile to openly accept good advice because doing so would require them to admit they didn’t know everything. Personally, one of my favorite things is learning something I didn’t know from an expert. From an unhealthy narcissism perspective, “I alone can fix it” comes to mind.

Yes, it’s stupid but also standard that the vast majority with these disorders are incapable of psychologically handling or gratefully accepting the help of others without feeling neurotically weak for doing it.

These antisocial people will consistently ask for time, money, and energy (aka narcissistic supply) from others to help themselves, and then later they will shamelessly claim they were not helped by anyone and take all the credit as they devalue and gaslight those who they asked or hired to help them.

Sadly, they do this because the vast majority of narcissists are massively insecure under their illusion of a confident exterior. This insecurity also explains why “cruelty is not the point.” The point is they need to make others seem small in their minds so they can feel big.

Thankfully, with CNI philosophy, we can almost always be guided into doing the right thing by doing the exact opposite of whatever a narcissist would do in the same circumstances. In this case, it is to ask you, the reader or listener, “What are your biggest questions about narcissists?”

It is not that there is a shortage of people, places, or things to profile via Counter-Narcissism prisms. In fact, the opposite is true, which is why it makes such productive and logical sense to ask what the biggest questions are among the CNI community, to help guide the focus.

Again, the beauty of this simple evolutionary behavior is that we will be doing the exact opposite of what malignant narcissists do. By being able to ask for and give help, we are acknowledging that many others have different yet equally important and worthy POVs and that only together will we find the answers that will save us in these dark times.

Beyond adding focus, the goal is that some questions can be answered fairly quickly in the comment section, and some can be explored in articles or podcasts. Please know that while CNI philosophy is free and open, we take everyone’s privacy very seriously, so we are pleased to either give you credit or protect your identity.

Question suggestions:

Obviously, the more specific and narrow the question, the higher probability we can easily answer it. For the broader and deeper questions, they will need to be considered on a case-by-case basis.

For example, most individual psychological profiles are far too time-intensive to be considered unless it is a question about someone already profiled, such as trump, putin, elon, jd vance, and maga, which are generally easy.

Nothing too dark! We all see and hear enough of that every day now.

Early birds have higher chances at the worm.

Questions prioritized:

Short and sweet. Ideally one sentence but no more than a paragraph. Two if you must.

Has potential “solutional” or revelational answers.

By those who regularly give “likes” and/or have paid subscriptions.

Ones that have a clever, fun, or entertaining aspect to them.

Again, at CNI it will always be the individual’s choice for a shout-out or to remain anonymous, with the default set to private. Any questions you are good with in public, please share in the “COMMENT” section.

To remain anonymous, please hit reply via your post email notification. I hope to have time for all and will certainly let you know if your question or comment made it somewhere before it premiers.

Thank you all for over three productive and inspiring years!
