I don’t have a cucumber plant—I have an entire cucumber field in my front yard (almost). So naturally, I’ve been trying to figure out what to do with all of them. Today’s answer: homemade ranch pickles. These are garlicky, herby, tangy, and insanely crunchy. You can use a packet of ranch seasoning to keep things simple, but I’ll also show you how to make the seasoning yourself. Just let the pickles sit in the fridge overnight, and they’ll be ready to snack on the next day. And if you really want to take them to the next level, fry them (yum!).
Tini’s Tips
A packet of store-bought ranch seasoning works just as well!
Let the pickles cool completely on the counter before adding the lid and transferring them to the refrigerator.
Let the pickles chill overnight so the cucumbers have time to soak up all that ranch flavor.
What You’ll Need
For the Pickles
1–2 large cucumbers, cut into spears (or enough to fill one 32-ounce jar)
2 garlic cloves, sliced
1 good handful of fresh dill
For the Homemade Ranch Seasoning
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon dried chives
1 teaspoon kosher salt or pickling salt
For the Pickle Brine
½ cup distilled white vinegar
½ cup water
Homemade ranch seasoning
2 teaspoons sugar
🥒 Step 1: Cut the Cucumbers
Slice your cucumbers into spears. You can make them as thick or thin as you like, just make sure they’ll fit inside your jar.
🌿 Step 2: Fill the Jar
Add the sliced garlic and fresh dill to the bottom of the jar first. Then pack in the cucumber spears. Shove them in there, you want to fit as many as you can without completely crushing them.
🧂 Step 3: Make the Ranch Seasoning
Add the garlic powder, onion powder, dried parsley, dried chives, and salt to a small bowl. Mix everything together.
If you’re using a store-bought ranch packet, you can skip this step.
🍶 Step 4: Make the Brine
Add the distilled white vinegar, water, ranch seasoning, and sugar to a small pot.
Place it over the heat and bring the mixture to a boil. As soon as it starts boiling, turn off the heat.
🫙 Step 5: Pour It into the Jar
Carefully pour the hot brine over the cucumbers. Make sure everything is covered so all those flavors can get into every spear.
❄️ Step 6: Let Them Chill
Leave the jar uncovered on the counter until it reaches room temperature. Once it’s completely cool, add the lid and place it in the refrigerator overnight.
😋 Step 7: Try Them
The next day, pull a pickle out of the jar and listen to that crunch. Eat them straight from the jar, add them to a sandwich, or fry them if you really want to take things to another level.

My Summer Beauty Staples

I’m switching things up today and taking a few minutes to chat about beauty products. I love summer, but between the heat, travel, and long days filming and cooking, I’ve realized there are a few products I reach for over and over again this time of year that make getting ready so much easier. I’m not someone who wants to feel like I have a full face me…
