Hello, dear readers, and welcome to a very special July edition of Wahoo, or Taboo?
This is my regular monthly feature that makes fun of The Ethicist column in The New York Times. I find humor in the idiotic “dilemmas” that seem to perplex and befuddle the circus freaks who seek his advice.
But before we get to the real questions lifted from The Ethicist, I’ve tried an experiment.
Everybody is wondering about the limits of Artificial Intelligence these days. Does it have a sense of humor? Does it get the concept of the bizarre? The absurd? The ironic? Can it be zany?
So, I fed ChatGPT a few of my Wahoo, or Taboo? columns and asked it to create some similar ethical questions.
I wanted to see who’s nuttier, AI, or actual New York Times readers.
